Washington, D.C.
Fabergé Egg Family Festival at Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens
What better time to admire the exquisite Fabergé egg creations than at Easter time? Join the Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens as they celebrate spring's arrival Russian-style with festive folk music and dancing and lively family-friendly Russian Easter traditional stories produced by Happenstance Theater. Participate in the traditional Russian egg-rolling game and create your very own Fabergé-inspired decorated egg. The Festival takes place on April 4th and 5th.
Tudor Place Eggstravaganza

Tudor Place's annual Eggstravaganza features an egg hunt, egg roll and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. The experience includes decorating a festive animal magnet, making a jumbo egg hanging decoration and playing children's games. There are four dates to choose from: April 4th, 9th, 10th and 11th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. There are some spots that are reserved for members only, be sure to double check the date you'd like to go. Also, this program sells out quickly, so secure your tickets early!
Stead Park's 14th Annual Easter Egg Hunt - FREE
Located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, the Stead Park's 14th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 11th offers up a fun family day at the Park with egg hunting, crafts, snacks and a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny. The egg hunt times are divided by age categories starting at 10:45 a.m. (baby to 3), 11:15 a.m. (ages 4-6) and 11:45 a.m. (ages 7 and up).
White House Easter Egg Roll
A time-honored tradition dating back to 1878, the annual White House Easter Egg Roll is an extraordinary opportunity to enjoy the seasonal festivities as a family on the South Lawn of the White House. A public lottery is utilized to select the lucky winners that are invited to attend. This year's 142nd Egg Roll, hosted by First Lady Melania Trump, will take place on April 13th. Note: The lottery closed on February 24th, be sure to mark those calendars for next year's lottery and good luck!
Easter & Earth Day Optimism Celebration at the National Zoo - FREE
The best of Easter meets Earth Day this year at the National Zoo. With a focus on conservation this celebration will be packed with ways to give back to Mother Earth and tons of fun too. The Easter Monday and Earth Optimism Celebration on April 13th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., will have egg hunts, games, food trucks, educational programs, live music and more. The event offers hands-on learning opportunities with special animal demonstrations, zookeeper talks, and meet and greets with wildlife professionals and scientists.
Maryland
Western Maryland Scenic Railroad Bunny Hop Train Ride, Cumberland, MD
ALL ABOARD for a magical Easter-themed event on a scenic train ride from Cumberland to Mountain View! Easter Egg Dyeing, Brentwood Arts Exchange, Hyattsville, MD - FREE
Don't want to make a mess at home dyeing Easter eggs? Head over to Brentwood Arts Exchange for the Easter Egg Dyeing family program on April 13th from 2 - 4 p.m. Each child will receive their first two eggs free; additional eggs may be purchased for a small fee.
Green Meadows Easter Egg Hunts at the Farm, Ijamsville, MD
Located south of Frederick, Maryland, Green Meadows is the place to be if when it comes to Easter Egg Hunts. The Farm offers three egg hunts per day from April 4th-5th and April 9th-12th at 11 a.m, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Whiskers, the farm's Easter Bunny, will be hopping in for photo opportunities. During your visit, enjoy cow milking, the petting farm, a wagon ride, goat feeding and pig races. No reservations needed for event dates, but your child must be signed up 30 minutes prior to the start of the hunt to participate.
Bunnyland at Butler’s Orchard, Germantown, MD
Have a hopping good time at Butler's Orchard's Bunnyland, featuring adorable spring animals, like bunnies, lambs and chicks, hayrides, Hilltop Hop jumping pad, egg hunt, playground, giant slides, pedal tractor rides, a rubber ducky derby, visits with the farm's Country Bunny, and a take-home goodie basket for the kids. Face painting and pony rides are available on the property for an additional fee. Bunnyland is open April 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 18th and 19th.
Walkersville Southern Railroad, Walkersville, MD
Experience a fun 80-minute ride on a train on the Walkerville Southern Railroad as Mr. Bunny makes his rounds meeting and greeting each family board. Enjoy free juice and Uncle Ralph's cookies served in their museum after your excursion. Bunny train rides take place on April 13th, 14th and 20th at the following times: 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The Hoppening at Historic Savage Mill's, Savage, MD
Once a cotton mill, now a shopping and restaurant complex, Historic Savage Mill is where it's all happening at The Hoppening. Enjoy FREE Easter Bunny pictures throughout the event! Plus there will be face painting, give-a-ways, raffles, and more, It’s sure to be a fun-tabulous day. The event of the season happens on April 4th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m
Black Hill Visitor Center Nature's Egg Hunt, Boyds, MD
Experience a different kind of egg hunt that doesn't require a basket at Nature's Egg Hunt at Black Hill Visitor Center. Learn about what eggs look like in nature and set off on a scavenger hunt for hidden egg clues. After the hunt, participate in a craft to make your own natural looking egg. The event takes place on April 10th at 10 - 11 a.m for ages 3 - 6 and 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for ages 7-11.
Clark's Elioak Farm's Egg Hunt Weekend, Ellicott City, MD
Spend a fun spring day on the farm at Clark's Elioak Egg Hunt Weekend. Cuddle with the furry farm animals in the petting farm, enjoy rides, participate in an egg hunt (for ages 1-6) or mine for gems. At the end of the hunt, the kids will turn in their eggs for a goodie bag. Egg Hunt weekend is April 11th and 12th with egg hunts happening every 30 minutes from 10 a.m - 5 p.m.
Virginia
Ticonderoga Farms Weekend Easter Egg Hunt, Chantilly, VA
Celebrate spring with Ticonderoga Farms all weekends from March 21st - April 19th with Easter egg hunts, giant hill slides, jumping pillows, hayrides, animal feedings, tepees, swinging bridge, pedal kart track and more! Bring your camera for the meet and greet with the guest of honor, the Easter Bunny. Egg hunts begin promptly at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m. Check in 30 minutes prior to hunt time.
Great Country Farms Egg Hunt and Marshmallow Harvest, Bluemont, VA
Head to Great Country Farms' Egg Hunt and Marshmallow Harvest to enjoy the first "crop" of the season, marshmallow picking to roast on the bonfire! Discover the hidden eggs left by the Easter Bunny filled with enchanting treats. While there, visit the baby animals and spring chicks and hop on the wagon for a ride around the farm. This unique experience takes place on March 28th and 29th. The egg hunt is arranged by age groups and takes place at specific times. Advance tickets may be purchased online for a discounted rate.
Arlandria Eggstravaganza, Four Mile Run Park, Alexandria, VA - FREE
Located in the Arlandria-Chirilagua neighborhood, the Arlandria Eggstravaganza is an extremely popular annual tradition with activities and entertainment for all age groups (even teens/adult egg hunts!). The fun takes place on April 4th (11 am to 3 pm) with a variety of activities, including over 10,000 eggs for hunts, games, crafts at the Mobile Art Lab, contests, music, demonstrations, food and more. Carnival style treats are available for free, such as cotton candy and popcorn. The first 3,000 people even get free lunch!
Easter Egg Hunt at Ida Lee Park, Leesburg, VA
Bring the family out for a day of fun at the Easter Egg Hunt at Ida Lee Park on April 4th from 12 - 3 p.m. Beyond the egg hunt, enjoy unlimited rides on a jumbo slide, obstacle courses, bounce houses and more amusements. Bring a lunch to enjoy a picnic at the park. Registration for the egg hunt is required and ends at 8 p.m. on April 12th.
Sully Historic Site Easter Egg Hunt, Chantilly, VA
Visit this Virginia landmark near Dulles Airport for the Sully Historic Site Easter Egg Hunt to hunt for eggs, create a take-home craft, ride on a wagon (additional fee) and play games. Meet and take photos with the Easter Bunny strolling the grounds. The event dates are April 4th - 5th. Space is limited, so register ahead of time HERE.
Roer's Zoofari Easter Eggstravaganza, Vienna, VA
Experience a day full of springtime fun at Roer's Zoofari Easter Eggstravaganza, including an open-air bus tour, aviary adventure, bounce houses, face painting, environmentally responsible crafts and barnyard petting and feeding of the animals! New this year, the event will be plastic-free; the farm will be using reusable eggs that children will turn in for prizes and kids that sign a plastic pledge to reduce their use of plastics will receive an additional gift. The Eggstravaganza takes place on two weekends, April 11th - 12th from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
NoVa Parks Egg Hunts
If you live in Northern Virginia or don't mind the drive, you are in luck, there are many area parks offering egg hunts this year. The list includes 10 different parks with dates ranging from April 14th - April 18th. Get busy - that's a lot of eggs to hunt!
The Lee-Fendall House Easter Egg Hunt, Alexandria, VA
Come out for the 21st annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Lee Fendall House where the Easter Bunny has filled the garden with hundreds of toy-filled Easter eggs! Lots of activities will be available for young guests to enjoy, from games, crafts, sticker station and temporary tattoos to photos with the Easter Bunny. The event takes place on three dates, April 10th - 12st and is expected to sell out due to space limitations. Secure your tickets early!
Easter Egg Hunt at Cherry Hill Park, Falls Church, VA - FREE
Hop on over for this annual family celebration at Cherry Hill Park for a fun hunt for candy and special eggs on April 11th at 10 a.m. (rain date is April 13th at 4 p.m.). Bring your camera to get a photo with the special guest, the Easter Bunny!
Morven Park's Easter at the Park, Leesburg, VA
Bring in spring at the historic Morven Park's Easter at the Park event with games, egg hunts, live rabbits, crafts and an egg roll down the Davis Mansion lawn. Bring a camera to take a family photo with the Easter Bunny in the lovely garden setting. Event takes place on April 20th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Nottaway Park Egg Hunt, Vienna, VA
Head over to the Nottaway Park Egg Hunt for some family fun on April 11th. Kids from 1-9-years old will enjoy hunting for candy and eggs filled with treats, plus there will be door prizes for each age group. While there, visit with the Easter Bunny to snag those priceless photos.
