This Weekend: Tax-Free Holidays in 10 States Including Maryland and Virginia
By Kim HumphreyPosted Aug 04, 2020
Whether virtual, in-person or a combination of both, the new school year is quickly approaching, and that means it's time to stock up on some supplies. In fact, a new approach to school may mean even more to buy this year to make sure your kids are fully stocked up and have everything they need to learn effectively from home. Even if your kids are starting the year 100% virtual, letting them pick out some new items for their back to school wardrobe will create some normalcy and help them get excited for a new academic year.
Luckily, several states have established sales tax-free periods this time of year to help parents and teachers get more bang for your back-to-school-shopping bucks, and many are this weekend!
Here's our round-up of 2020 sales tax holidays that are happening this weekend. Click on the link for your state to find out the details of what's included, which can range from clothes and school supplies to energy-efficient appliances and even emergency preparedness kits.
