One of the area's most well-known and beloved camps since 1942, Camp Puh’Tok is making its debut on CertifiKID for the firsttime ever! They're offering your child a very special summer experience full of fresh air, wonderful activities and FUN at an unbeatable price you won't find anywhere else!
Located in a magnificent setting in Northern Baltimore County, on over 60 acres of pristine woodlands, bordered by scenic Gunpowder Falls and the 18,000 acre Gunpowder Falls State Park, campers ages 7-16 take part in activities that emphasize leadership, teamwork, spirituality, appreciation of nature, and discovering our American heritage.
WHAT TO EXPECT
ACTIVITIES: Imagine a summer filled with archery, BB’s, archeology, hiking, homestead, horseback riding, swimming twice a day, Native American crafts, nature, camp fires, low ropes challenge courses, storytelling, field games, cookouts, arts and crafts and much more. That's Camp Puh'Tok! Plus, additional activites like movie nights on the field, Jug-Band-Boogie Ho-down in the council ring, a fourth of July party, night swim parties with music, Hawaiian Pig Roast and more. Each Friday evening family and friends are invited to the Fun Fire or Tipi Wakan, a campfire filled with dancing and songs.
LODGING & DINING: Camp Puh'Tok is a true sleep away experience! No cell phones, iPods or other electronic devices allowed! Campers sleep in bunks in lodging that ranges from an authentic Native American village to air conditioned cabins to Fort Macinac, which gives campers a taste of the life of a soldier in the 1800s. Girls are housed together in one area, while boys are in another. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily in the Thunderbird Lodge.
WHAT PARENTS WANT TO KNOW
All programs are run by trained staff and professionals with a 1:6 staff to camper ratio. Each staff member is trained in CPR and First Aid. Programs that require more attention are often run by outside professionals who are experts in their field. Programs vary according to age so all campers are both safe and can find something they enjoy.
