Like many Americans, the Kennedys shared a love for poetry and read it together as a family. Introduce your family to a love of the written word in American Scrapbook: A Celebration of Verse, a new Kennedy Center production for young audiences. This theatrically rich production, based on the poetry compilations of Caroline Kennedy, moves audiences to the words of Robert Frost, Carl Sandburg, Langston Hughes, Edgar Allan Poe, Gwendolyn Brooks, e.e. cummings, and others...Ages 9 and up.
NSO Teddy Bear Concert: Fancy That!
In Fancy That!, NSO violinist Marissa Regni teaches kids how to fancy up music with ornamentation and variations as her graphic-artist sidekick fancifies the world around her. This concert is perfect for even the youngest music lovers in your family. Ages 3–5. Performance lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Come early for "musical playtime." Starting a half hour before the Teddy Bear Concert, enjoy music and movement activities especially designed for small children.
