Olney Ballet Theatre's "The Nutcracker" was created in 1961 by Mary Day, co-founder of the Washington Ballet, and features professional artists, dancers from the local community, and students of Berrend Dance Centre, official school of Olney Ballet Theatre. Helmed by Artistic Director Pat Berrend, featuring vintage costumes and sets, world-class dancers, and the famous choreography of Mary Day, this holiday tradition by OBT has delighted local audiences and inspired many young artists for over 20 years.
