Real Mom Review: ACE Adventure Resort

We stayed in the Truman Lodge at ACE Adventure Resort in West Virginia. The Truman Lodge is in a great location; you can easily walk to the lake and restaurants. The lodge itself was very clean and fully equipped. There was more than enough room for three adults and four kids, and there were extra roll away beds and sleeping bags. Despite being close to the main areas of the resort, it felt very private.

I was surprised by the high quality of the food. They had many options and everything was reasonably priced, even the adult beverages.

Our kids spent the first day swimming at the lake, climbing on the 20+ water obstacles inflated throughout the swimming area. They had a blast, and the adults were able to enjoy some "beach" time and even enjoyed some of the obstacles and slides.

The second day, everyone went on the all-day rafting trip on the Lower River. This was our kids (ages 9-13) first time rafting, so we chose the easiest trip. The recommended age is 6+ and I agree with the assessment. Our main guide, Bobby, and our rafting guide, Ryan, were exceptional! They were knowledgeable and always made sure everyone was comfortable, enjoyed themselves and stayed safe. Ducky wars, a fabulous picnic, and great, fun rapids made for an unforgettable day.

We will definitely be back and stay longer next time. We heard great things about zip lining. There is just so much to do that we couldn't fit it all in!
