National Donut Day 2020: Free Donuts from Krispy Kreme, Duck Donuts, Dunkin' and More

Sweet treat lovers, rejoice! National Donut Day (or is it doughnut?) is Friday, June 5! Many retailers celebrate this joyous occasion by bestowing freebies and delicious deals on their customers. Lucky us!

Believe it or not, there is real history behind this celebration of deliciousness that is observed annually on the first Friday in June. It was first established in 1938 as a fund raiser for the Salvation Army in Chicago to honor the Salvation Army "Lassies" who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. The Salvation Army continues to celebrate their work today by delivering donuts to those in need and hosting fun activities across the country.

Duck Donuts
All registered Duck Donuts Rewards members will receive a free cinnamon sugar donut offer, redeemable June 5-7, in-store, online, through the app or for delivery.* In order to receive the freebie, guests must download and register on the Duck Donuts Rewards app before June 4, 11:59 p.m. PST. Offer valid at participating locations, one free cinnamon sugar donut per registered user.

Dunkin'
Visit participating Dunkin' locations on June 5 to receive a free classic donut of your choice with the purchase of any beverage. But that's not all! To continue the celebration, Grubhub is offering a free half-dozen donuts on Dunkin' orders of $10 or more on June 6 and 7.

Krispy Kreme
For the first time ever, Krispy Kreme is extending National Doughnut Day into National Doughnut WEEK! Starting Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5, guests can stop by participating Krispy Kreme shops across the U.S. and receive one free doughnut of their choice. 

LaMar's Donuts
In a salute to community service workers during the coronavirus pandemic, LaMar's Donuts is doubling its annual free donut giveaway to healthcare, education and first-responder professionals. On National Donut Day, June 5, LaMar's will give TWO free donuts to anyone presenting evidence of employment in public service - a business card, name plate or badge, or uniform, for example. All other members of the public will receive one free donut. No purchase required.

Stan's Donuts and Coffee Chicago
This year, the iconic Chicago donut shop is adding some extra sweetness to the pastry-lovers' celebration with a full weekend of free donuts. From Friday, June 5 through Sunday, June 7, Stan's will be offering guests a free glazed cake donut with any purchase. The extended holiday means more free donuts for free smiles, but it also will allow Stan's to ensure everyone can get a free donut while safely practicing social distancing. Stan's will also be offering specially-priced assortments including $10 half dozen of glazed donuts, a $20 dozen of Stan's classics, and a $30 Doughboy's Best Assortment of Stan's most beloved flavors including the Nutella pocket and lemon pistachio old fashioned.
